Hair and makeup on the Oscars 2023 Red Carpet

The Oscars is one of those annual events where the eyes of the world are locked.

This is the real deal, folks.

It certainly seems the snatched, slicked back upstyles took the trend crown on the carpet this year.

Let’s take a look at some of the red carpet triumphs - in particular, the hair and makeup looks that stole the show.

Well that is entirely up to the eye of the beholder, although many are touting Jamie Lee Curtis as best dressed/styled. She rolled up looking absolutely incredible in Dolce and Gabbana, rocking her natural silver fox hair.

Went classic and demure for the night of nights. A red lip, black and bold cat eye, hair pulled back.

This woman is at the top of her game, career wise. And she's making headlines with her progressive style on red carpets the world over. Check out this futuristic upstyle, teamed with her signature short bangs. Just wow.

Another up-do! But a bit more loose, less snatched. A classic and gorgeous look for Mrs Krasinski, who presented the first award of the night!

Madame Delevingne rocking a much more conservative and classic look for a bit of a change! Tightly pulled back up-do, a deep side part and smouldering temptress warm tone eye makeup is the name of her game for the carpet this year!

You can't really see very well but Tems baby is rocking a reflective light blue/silver eye shadow and it is doing things for us like you wouldn't believe.

Also, did anyone notice that the red carpet for this year’s big event wasn’t actually red? It was champagne!

The reason?

Simply, the organisers were trying to be artistic.

The colour of champagne is reflective of the time of day of the event - “golden hour”, with an attempt to evoke a calm atmosphere.
